Apple Cinnamon Slab

Serves 4

Cooking Time: 25 to 30′

What you need:

  • Puff Pastry
  • 2 to 3 Apples (I had red ones), peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 Tbsp Butter
  • 1 Tbsp Cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • A squeeze of Lemon
  • 1 Egg and water to brush

 

Method:

Alright I’m not one to use ready made pastries, but what can you do? Sometimes life happens and you run out of time, or ideas or your hand is swollen that you find it so difficult to knead, and that’s what happened to me.

Anyway, this is behind me now.

I had some left over puff pastry and a few apples in the fridge and made this quick and super delicious Apple Cinnamon Slab.

Melt the butter and toss the sliced apples in with the cinnamon and sugar.

Stir until the apples are soft but not overcooked because they still need to go in the oven.

Squeeze some lemon juice on them, and let them cool while you prepare you pastry.

Preheat your oven to 190 degrees Celsius.

Roll it and form a big thin (1cm) rectangle, fill it with the apples in the middle lenght wise, and roll the sides of the pastry over the apples. Brush with the egg and water mixture and put in the oven for 35 to 40 minutes.

This dessert is best served warm! Yum!
